Seven Pediatric Clinic physicians join Summit Medical Group

 

Summit Medical Group, East Tennessee’s largest primary care organization, welcomes seven new pediatricians at three Pediatric Clinic locations in West Knoxville, Hardin Valley and Seymour.

“The depth and breadth of the expertise of these seven pediatricians, who have spent their careers caring for the youngest patients, is incalculable,” Summit Medical Group CEO Ed Curtis said. We welcome these physicians to Summit Medical Group where they will continue to offer excellent healthcare services in our community.”

Pediatric Clinic cares for patients from birth to age 18 and offers well and sick visits, immunizations, lab services and referral services. Pediatric Clinic physicians include:   

Kristy E. Carter, M.D., is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has a Bachelor of Science in Education (BSed) in exercise and sports science and earned a Doctor of Medicine from Medical College of Georgia. She lives in Farragut with her husband, Jonathan, and three children, Knox, Lucy and Nathan. Dr. Carter has office hours at both West Knoxville and Hardin Valley clinics.  

 

 

 

 

 

Anil Harsh, M.D., is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He earned a Doctor of Medicine from SMS Medical College in Jaipur, India, and completed a residency at the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He lives in Farragut with his wife, Poonam, and they have two adult children. Dr. Harsh works at the Seymour clinic.

 

 

 

 

 

Thomas H. “Tom” Lowry, M.D., is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee. He lives in Knoxville with his wife, Katherine, and they have four adult children. Dr. Lowry works at the Hardin Valley clinic, as well as the West Knoxville clinic one day a week.

 

 

 

 

 

Melissa Meyer, M.D., is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has a Bachelor of Science in cell and molecular biology and earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee. She lives in Farragut with her husband, Scott, and daughters, Emma and Sophie. Dr. Meyer works at the West Knoxville clinic.

 

 

 

 

 

Meghan E. Peters, M.D., PharmD, is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina and earned a Doctor of Medicine from East Carolina University. She lives in Knoxville with her husband, Radu Ciocan, and they have one son, Luca. Dr. Peters has office hours at both Seymour and Hardin Valley clinics.

 

 

 

 

 

Wilson Lee “Bill” Powers, M.D., is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has a Bachelor of Science in zoology and earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee. He lives in Fountain City with his wife, Barbara. They have six grown children and seven grandchildren. Dr. Powers has office hours at both Seymour and Hardin Valley clinics.

 

 

 

 

 

Stephanie Russ-Barber, M.D., is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has a Bachelor of Science with a dual major in biology and chemistry from Wesleyan College and earned a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia. She lives in Knoxville with her husband, Keith Barber, and their four children, Ben, Laney, Brooks and Ellie Kate. Dr. Russ-Barber has office hours at both West Knoxville and Hardin Valley clinics.
