Lauren C. Thoma, M.D.

Dr. Lauren Thoma grew up in Louisiana and Texas and obtained her undergraduate degree from Centenary College of Louisiana, where she played Division I women's soccer for 4 years. She graduated with a degree in neuroscience and a minor in psychology, then attended medical school at Louisiana State University Health in Shreveport. She and her husband, Thomas, who is also from Louisiana, were thrilled to move to Knoxville to complete her family medicine residency at the University of Tennessee. She enjoyed her time at UT and was a Chief Resident in her final year of training. Dr. Thoma and her husband truly enjoyed their time in Knoxville for residency and were excited to make it their new home. She practices full spectrum family medicine with special interests in women's health, diabetes, hypertension, and preventative care.

Dr. Thoma has one son and another child on the way. They have one dog, Bella, and enjoys taking her to the various parks around the city. They also spend their time hiking in the beautiful Smoky Mountains, as well as enjoying all the festivals, music, sports, and outdoor activities that Knoxville has to offer.
